Ever since 9/11 Americans have had tough ups and downs.  We’ve had it rough and it has had a toll on us all.  The annual round of financial troubles only heaps it on.  Eventually we get beaten down and our problems get bigger than we are.  Dark days.  Sleepless nights.  It can feel like there is no God.  No hope.  No plan.

When sleep doesn’t come you have to wonder: How can a Christian, one of God’s children, be a prisoner in his own bed?

The last time I was at church there were all these people in soft, padded chairs around me that you could just look at and know they were faking it.  Looking down on everyone else.  You know the type.  Hypocrites.

Stop nodding.  Go look in the mirror.
